birthday bowl

Last night we bowled.

Audrey in bowling shoes = super cute.
Kip set up a bowling ramp for her and she would jump and throw her hands up in the air after her turn.

Jeremiah would power slide across the floor (slide on his knees while pretending to play the guitar) after his. His friend joined us to celebrate his birthday.

(and mine... Jeremiah and I share the same day)

I had a mojito.

And we all shared a meal of mozzarella sticks, cheese fries and pizza.

When the kids weren't bowling they were dancing.  I think all of us (except Kip) were dancing and singing to Justin Bieber at one point. ( :

There were thoughts of getting cake or ice cream post bowling but after such a huge meal there was just no way we could fit cake in...we were super satisfied and sometimes after having such a great time...
birthday cake is just not needed.

I only got this one picture last night, I totally took my camera with me but just didn't take any, and when I asked myself this morning why I had forgotten to take pictures??

I answered me by saying... we were just having way too much fun.

Winny de Puh

When Kip came home from work last night he surprised us with an invite to see Winnie the Pooh.
Such a darling movie. I had no idea Zooey Deshanel was on the soundtrack, so as much as I love She and Him, it was a sweet surprise to hear her sing.  I think I must buy the soundtrack.

Wouldn't a party like this one be the best before going out to the show to watch?

and just in case you are wondering... the title of this post is Winnie the Pooh translated to spanish. ( :

Audrey Hepburn Piñata

Months ago while having fun at a friends birthday party... my best friend says to me...

"I wonder when the kids will break the piñata?"

"How do you know they have a piñata?" I replied

"Their Latinos... Latinos always have piñatas at birthday parties."

Sure enough, they had a piñata.

So, of coarse Audrey had a pinãta at her birthday.

I found this....

so appropriate ( :

I ordered it from Whack! Piñateria, each one of their piñatas are so perfect.

Jeremiah and Audrey had fun filling it with candy, small crayon boxes and small toys days before the party.

The goodie bags they decorated caught all the treats and when they got ready to go home were perfect for carrying the parting gift (ice cream shaped bubbles inspired from here).

Is a piñata a must for your parties?

On 4th of July

(been away from blogging for a bit... and  missed you)

Our fourth of July weekend included a neighborhood parade (kids on decorated bikes, strollers and scooters), good food and summer.  It was perfectly filled with family and friends.
So so proud to be a part of this beautiful country.

Here are some pictures (taken by Audrey's daddy) from our 4th of July celebrating...

Audrey turned 3 this weekend.. so looking forward to sharing with you soon... ( :

Happy 4th, happy Monday, happy Tuesday, happy day!

Fathers Day

Sometimes, I have to say, he is so much better at being mom

He tucks them in bed.  Reads them stories. Watches super hero movies... or Strawberry Shortcake cartoons.

Did dishes last night

... and let me sleep in this morning.

I did make pancakes for him when I woke up ( :
(we LOVE him)

Happy Fathers Day!

Communion

Jeremiah's first communion was very special.

I am so glad I waited for him to get a little older to do it.  I think he learned and understood so much more at this age.

The celebration included mass followed by lunch at a local Italian place.

The kids ate mozzarella sticks while the adults started off with fried calamari, artichoke dip and fried zucchini.  We had wine and I let Jeremiah have a Sprite to drink since it was such a special day.  During lunch he asked me what had happened to his soda... only to find that miss Audrey had gulped down his soda trading her water for his special drink.

We ate way too much pizza and yummy dessert (a gift from grandma).

That night when we were getting ready for bed I overheard Kip tell Jeremiah how proud of him he was...

We all are.

Papel Picado

These papel picado decorations from Ay Mujer make me feel like throwing one last bbq in the backyard before the end of summer.  It brings family and friends, color, and fun to mind.

I am also thinking a Day of the Dead celebration?
