I remember one of the games from my own baby shower with Levi...a blind taste test to guess what baby foods were what. It made me determined not to give that stuff to my babies. So much of it was just plain gross.

During my pregnancy I was so swollen and was still excited to make all the food for the baby shower, even though my family kept insisting on getting a caterer. I had to put my swollen foot down and hold my ground. I made chicken salad sandwiches, ambrosia salad, and quiche for over 120 people. It was fun and a very special time in my life that I wanted to celebrate and continue to celebrate my son's life everyday. He's 1 and a half and is still wearing Pampers!

My friend made cupcakes for a baby shower that were almost too beautiful to eat. No one was touching them because they thought maybe they were just for display. Not me! I grabbed one and put it in my mouth and it tasted even better than it looked.

I remember at my baby shower 8 years ago that my mom had diaper cakes decorating the tables. At the time diaper cakes were very new and no one at the shower had seen them before. They were really cute.

My mom and sisters prepared a surprise baby shower for me when I was just 4 months pregnant!! I went to Venezuela for my sister's graduation and had no idea of the whole Baby Shower!.. I'm so glad they decided to do it 'cause I got to get together with all the ladies of the family and close friends!.. At the end of my pregnancy I was going to have another baby shower here in USA and I ended up having the baby the day before...

My mami hosted both of my baby showers and she tried to make them both a surprise. But, the 2nd time around it was a little hard to hide it, since both my babies were born the same week in December and with Thanskgiving and other family get-togethers, I pretty much knew when she was going to do it. Plus, she kept asking me if anyone had told me they'd be throwing me a shower..it was very sweet of her, though!

(1st post was deleted b/c I forgot to add my email address.)

I 'm loving all these great baby shower stories but I have a memorable one that i would like to forget. During my first baby shower, everyone was having a good ol' time, talking, laughing, eating and then all of a sudden, we heard a loud thump. We turned around and my mom fell on the table (then the floor), food went flying because she had a seizure. It was terrifying. I was shocked I didn't go into labor right then and there. Thank God she was ok (she has epileptic seizures and takes meds for it). Needless to say, after that people started leaving and I was just nervous for the rest of the night.

Baby Showers were new to me when I got pregnant since We don't have them in Argentina. But my friends in Miami organized a super chic baby shower at a south beach hotel, We didn't play game but I had a lot of food and drinks. The party was so good that We continued the celebration at my home. :)

I love baby showers with tons of fun games!! I enjoyed mine. The baby food game is the best, and I love the one where I had to try and hang a line of clothes to dry with baby and phone on me! It has happened in real life!!

When my sister was pregnant, we celebrated by throwing her an organic/natural baby shower! It was SUPER fun! We decorated earthy, had invites that could be planted to make flowers, and just celebrated her and baby. It was low key, relaxing and fun and I would do it all over again for her if I could! :)

My co-workers surprised me with a baby shower by telling me that I needed to be at a meeting with our executive. I nervously showed up with an armful of materials only to be greeted by a cheery roomful of 30 people!

One of the games we played at a baby shower was- 2 people hold a rope up and you set the timer for 1 minute- 1 person has to hold the baby-talk on the phone and hang up the baby clothes on the line-who ever gets the most clothes hung up- wins- it was really funny and cute- you had to talk on the phone too-not just hold it- so the stories were funny.

I was surprised at my baby shower by the (secretly planned) arrival of my best friend from school who I hadn't seen in many years. :)

Always love Baby Bingo! That is the most fun game & we played it 3x at my shower. I have 3 cousins who are due in a few months, a friend that is due & hopefully my 2nd soon :)

I remember feeling so loved and pampered on this day! A favorite memory is opening the metallic gold diaper bag that I had secretly registered for and seeing the look on my husband's face!

I love attending baby showers and playing games! I love the guess the baby food game. I saw at one shower instead of a diaper cake they had some cute cupcakes that were made from a diaper, baby socks, & a washcloth.

The best game I have ever played at a shower...in groups of 3-4 people, we were given popsicle sticks and glue and 1 hour to make a crib. It was awesome!

I had 4 baby showers, if you can believe it, but the most roaring fun we had was the surprise our close friends threw at my house. They put one of the guys in charge of a game where you were supposed to guess which chocolate candy bar was melted into a pamper. Yeah, gross, I know, but I had no idea what was happening until I saw smoke coming from the kitchen and saw the microwave on fire from the pamper and chocolate burning in there.

Pampers -- great on babies. Not great in microwaves.

I remember the first time I played the poopy diaper game where you try to guess the melted candy bar in each diaper haha we played it at my shower and I loved watching the reactions from those who hadn't played it before - priceless!

baby shower games are very creative and fun from the melted chocolate in diapers, guess the baby food flavor, baby bottle drink off, guess the white stuff, water broke where they put little baby plastic toys and freeze them in ice cube tray and whoever melts the ice the fastest to getthe baby out wins list goes on and on! :-)

I co-hosted a shower for a friend in my home, and her police-officer husband attended as well. He brought his uniform to the shower, as he had to go straight to work after the shower. After changing into his uniform, one of the party guests got quite excited seeing him come down the stairs. She thought we'd gotten a stripper for the party!! The mom-to-be had a good laugh along with the party guest!

My sister's baby shower was super relaxed - no games, just food & conversation! I love parties like that.

P.S. This gift card would come in handy b/c my sister-in-law and two of my sisters are pregnant right now...and I may be next! ;)

I've thrown and been to so many different types of baby showers, and all are so special in their own way. I think my favorite ones include a mellow time of food, drinks, friends, family, stories, and words of encouragement. There is usually much laughter, tears of joy and thankfulness, and lots and lots of oooohing and aaaahing :-)

We played a game at my shower with napkin baby diapers. Each one had some kind of baby food inside and the person who could name the flavor of baby food won.

I love all of the "love" which surrounded my shower. The words of encouragement which were left for me in a keepsake book is something I still treasure two babies later.

I went to a family friend's baby shower that my sister hosted. The theme was "A Star is Born." We had movie reels and a Polaroid camera to take pictures of people in pearls and sunglasses as they walked in the front door as if being hounded by the paparazzi. However, the best part was when our very own Marilyn Monroe drag queen walked down the stairs in her beautiful pink dress and her feather boa to serve the very best Blueberry Martini’s I have ever had.

You know what game I hate? The one where everyone cuts a piece of string to estimate the mother-to-be's girth. I think that's tacky.

Thanks for hosting this giveaway! I have a very special friend in mind.
A funny story from my baby shower with my first pregnancy is that when gifts were being exchanged, my mom produced a baby picture and started passing it around.
I took one look at it, gave her a puzzled look. She said "It's you! As a baby!"
Uh nope- it was my big sister. The date was even on the back! I still tease her about it.

Oh I've done the blind baby food test too.... which is why I only gave my son homemade. *shudder* that stuff was disgusting!

For me, I love the diaper cakes - I don't know why but they fascinate me so!

I remember them using all the bows and ribbos and making me a "hat" out of them which I then had to wear for pictures!!

One of my favorite memories was of my BFF's shower - we played some super fun games and had the most amazing food, but I really remember how close and warm and happy we all were then. It was a really great day.

I remember my baby showers well, and the best part about them was having all of my favorite people in the same room, visiting and enjoying each other's company! Oh, and the food wasn't too bad either (esp being preg and hungry)! =)

I had my 3rd baby 7 months ago and my "baby shower" was a bit different than most. I had a friend who told me she wanted to throw me one, but then decided a couple weeks before my due date to cancel on me. It made me pretty depressed as I was in need of quite a few things and was looking forward to a celebration for me and my baby. My sister found out about how sad I was and even though she lives in another state, she contacted all of my aunts, cousins, siblings and friends and asked them to either donate $, send a card, or buy a gift for a baby shower in a box that she was sending me. I had no idea until a GIANT tub full of gifts and letters was placed on my doorstep. It made me bawl and feel oh so loved that so many people would take the time to do something so special for me.

Oh my gosh, that baby food game!! I had forgotten all about that. We gave my friend Jenny a shower where we surprised her with her mom and grandma from across the country, she was so happy that she didn't even mind that I forgot half the refreshments...

Thanks for having this, I haven't thought about that shower and it was a good memory to relive!
